My family loves garlic bread and have dealt with some failed experiments in the past. Here is the recipe that we use. Not a lot of science here. For the bread, I usually use a french baguette, but any bread would work. I’ve even done gluten free bread and it still disappeared. Really, with enough butter, garlic and cheese anything would taste good!!
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp garlic salt
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 1/2 cup freshly grated parmesean cheese
- French baguette bread (or substitute whatever bread you have)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400F degrees
- Place the stick of butter in a small bowl. Soften the butter in the microwave (if needed)
- Add the garlic powder, garlic salt, and minced garlic to the softened butter and stir with a butter knife until everything is mixed together.
- Cut the baguette lengthwise and place on a cookie sheet face up. Spread a generous amount of the butter mixture on each of the baguette halves (you can’t overdo it).
- Sprinkle freshly grated parmesean cheese over the top of the bread
- Place in oven on the top rack for 10 minutes or until the bread starts to brown.
- Cut bread into desired length and serve.
