Day #86 Van Build – 9/30/25

I didn’t have a lot of time today, but then again there wasn’t a lot to work on. I started mid-afternoon by sealing around the AC unit on the roof of the van. Not sure that this will prevent the leak, but it was an easy thing to do and it may work. I’m keeping my fingers crossed!!

I received the bolts I needed to mount the bikes to the L-track in the floor of the van. So, I tested it out on my largest bike – my mountain bike. It worked well and was very secure. It also validated my measures for the seat fitting under the cabinet and the front of the bike being a safe distance from the rear doors.

Then I finished the work on the sink by installing the missing hose clamp. I filled the water tank with some water and tested out the system. No leaks and everything worked well.

I finished the day by fabricating three small boards from some of my scrap lumber to cover up the exposed wheel well between the lower bunk and the electrical cabinet. Here is what it looked like at first.

I’ll post a picture of the final look once the glue dries on the boards and I have them installed.

With my free time the next few days, I’ll be planning out the design for the storage behind the galley. I have some more aluminum extrusion on order and once that arrives I want to be ready to start working on that last big piece of work.
