Not really sure this should count as a build day, as it was kind of a disaster.
I started out by looking at how the stain looked on the window frame, and I didn’t like it. I applied a second coat of stain in hopes that it would help.
While I waited for the second coat of stain to dry, I was going to install the M8 rivnuts in the ceiling of the van. However, on the second rivnut, my rivnut tool broke and made it unusable.

I kind of felt tough to have broken the tool that operates only on my own muscle power, but it was frustrating to have to put a hold on the ceiling work until I can obtain a replacement tool.
Eventually, I went back to the window frame and, as expected, the second coat of stain really didn’t do anything to make it look any better. Here is a picture of it.

You can see exactly where the wood filler was applied, and I didn’t want to put it in the van looking like that. Elizabeth suggested that I paint it, and I took her advice and bought a quart of paint to cover up the stain. Here is what it looked like after the first of two coats of paint.

I think this is going to work better, and I’ll put this into the van tomorrow so I can have my work table back for other activities.
Overall, I think I put in about 40 minutes of work on the van today. Instead, I spent some time ordering additional materials and components so that I can continue to have stuff to work on. I ordered all of the electrical boxes and outlets online and I went to the lumber yard to pick up some 1/4″ plywood for the walls. At the lumber yard, I also ordered the slats for the roof of the van as they will cut them to size for me. I also picked up a few bolts to test out the way I want to connect the aluminum extrusion to the unistrut.
