It was a rainy day, so I couldn’t work on the van in the morning. I did some research on which unistrut channel to buy and what hardware I need for it. I’m calling one distributor tomorrow before making a decision and purchasing it.
On the bright side, after 12 hours of rain, the window that we put in the van last Sunday didn’t leak. So, that was a good test.
I had a bunch of errands to run in the afternoon, and it finally stopped raining. But, I didn’t have any time to work on the van until after dinner. But that really wasn’t a big deal, because I only had 30 minutes of work to do. After dinner, Elizabeth and Artie helped me glue down the first seven aluminum joists onto the floor of the van. Then we stacked some plywood on top to weigh them down and added a bunch of heavy stuff on top of the plywood. The glue takes 24 hours to cure, so not much to do tomorrow either.
Here’s a picture of the gluing process.

And here is what it looks like with the plywood on top and the additional weight. The big boxes are the batteries that I’m putting in my van (eventually). There is also two bags of rock salt and you can see my trailer hitch mount bike rack in the front.

We’ll see how this works out tomorrow evening.
