I spent a couple of days with my brother, Joe and his family. The first day was a rainy Saturday. I was able to meet up with my old college roommate, Dave. We had a long lunch and it was great to catch up with him.
I spent a lot of time reading during the day and put a good dent into “The Hobbit”. We then had dinner with my niece, Kimmy and her fiancé, Kyle.
At night, Joe and I watched the hockey game on TV before calling it a day.
On Sunday, I finished my book and downloaded a couple more using Scott’s suggestions from the comments. Then we went to church at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church. They have a great sanctuary with lots of stained glass. The church was well attended (I took the picture well before the service started). The sermon was good and was about the covenant we make at communion.
After church we went to see Kimmy’s new house. Kimmy gave us a tour of her dozen (or so) geckos and fed us lunch.
Nikki, Cody and their kids met us at Kimmy’s. I got to hold Brooke for a while (she wasn’t happy about it at first, but warmed up to me).
Once back at Joe’s, he took me out to teach me how to play frisbee golf. I really stunk at it and was basically unable to throw it without a BIG hook. Even with unlimited mulligans, I only managed +5 on a 12 hole par-3 course. Still, it was a good time and I found a frisbee in the woods while I was searching for one of my errant throws. So, at least I was able to add a disc to Joe’s collection. 🙂
Finished the day with laundry and taking Joe & Carolyn out for sushi. Joe and I watched the NHL hockey game at night. The weather looks good for tomorrow and I plan to bike towards Madison and my brother John’s house.
